Terms of Service

1. Who we are
8am Foods ("we", "us") is a campus breakfast service operating from The Bakery, beside the school market. By placing an order on 8amfoods.com you agree to these terms.

2. Who can order
You must be at least 16 years old to place an order. By using the service, you confirm that the information you provide — your phone number, optional email, and any name attached to a walk-in order — is accurate.
3. Placing an order
When you place an order:
- We hold your stock for 30 minutes from order creation. If payment doesn't complete in that window, the order is cancelled and stock returned.
- Your card or bank details are processed entirely by Paystack — we never see or store them.
- You receive a short pickup code (e.g. 8AM-X4KP). This code is your proof of purchase.
- If an item sells out between your selection and payment, the order will fail and any charge will be refunded.
4. Pickup
Orders are collected at The Bakery, beside the school market. Service runs every day from 6:30 AM, though we may close earlier on individual days (the homepage will say so when service is closed).
You can track your order at /order/<your-code> or at /my-orders. If you allow push notifications, we'll alert you the moment the kitchen marks your order ready.
5. Pre-orders
You can pre-order any item at any time for the next morning. Pre-ordered items are reserved for you and will be ready when service opens.
6. Abandoned orders
If you don't collect an order during the day service runs, we'll hold it for you until end of service. Orders not collected by end of service that day cannot be refunded — the food was prepared and reserved for you.
7. Cancellation
- Before payment: you can cancel from your order page within 2 minutes of placing the order.
- After payment: use the Request Refund button on your order page. We'll review and respond — see our Refund Policy.
- Cancellation by us: rare, but if we genuinely cannot fulfil an order (e.g. ingredient shortage), we refund in full automatically.
8. Walk-in / cash orders
If you order at the counter and pay in cash, the same terms apply except payment is settled in person. Cash refunds, when due, are issued in cash on the spot.
9. Reviews & ratings
After pickup, you may rate your order from 1 to 5 stars and leave optional written feedback. By submitting feedback, you grant us permission to display it publicly (anonymously, identified only by the last 4 characters of your order code) if we choose to feature it.
We never share your phone number, email, or full name in any public display.
10. Acceptable use
Don't use 8am Foods to:
- Place fraudulent or abusive orders
- Probe, scan, or test our systems for vulnerabilities without authorisation
- Spam our feedback inbox or repeatedly submit empty applications
- Spoof phone numbers belonging to others
We may refuse service to anyone violating these rules.
11. Service availability
We aim for high availability but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, network issues, payment-provider outages, or events beyond our reasonable control may cause temporary disruption.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Nigerian law, our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We're not liable for indirect losses (missed appointments, missed exams, lost productivity, etc.).
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects when. Continued use after material changes means you accept them. If we change anything substantial, we'll surface it in-app.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes will be resolved in Nigerian courts.
